Grandeur has returned to South Beach. Formerly the Miami Beach Ocean Resort, The Palms
South Beach celebrated it?s grand opening in the Fall of 2001. Renowned interior designer
Patrick Kennedy gave the property a five million dollar face lift. Of the extensive
renovations Kennedy said, ?It?s a fusion of the Eastern and Western world. Miami
epitomizes this fusion.? Guests will nod their heads in approval from the moment they step
foot on the property to the moment they leave because Kennedy has turned his vision into a
reality .
Located just north of the historic Art Deco district on Collins Avenue, this oceanside
resort promises to meet each and every guests? expectations. Guests will
feel like royalty upon entering The Palms. Double height Colonial doors open into an
inviting lobby. The spacious lobby extends outward to the lush tropical gardens. The soft
lighting and comfortable rockers help to ease guests into a world of lazy days, tropical
drinks and time spent with old friends. Welcome to life at The Palms.
Living Accomodations at the Palms
The Palms boasts 242 beautiful guestrooms. Each room offers an uninterrupted view of the
garden, ocean, or city. Whether guests choose to stay in a room, suite or the two bedroom
penthouse suite, luxury and relaxation awaits everyone. Each room is tastefully furnished
with custom designed pieces. Light and dark wood are contrasted with upholstery using
blue, green, and cream colors in order to create an ocean feeling.
Comfort is key at The Palms. Each room is equipped with individually controlled air
conditioning and ceiling fans. Alarm clocks contain a CD player. Two telephones
(one cordless) come with voicemail and dual data ports. Guests can surf the net through
the cable TV. Valuables may be kept in the in-room safe. A fully stocked private bar and
luxury spa toiletries are also provided.
Eating and Drinking at the Palms
Dining at The Palms is as an elegant experience as the living accommodations. The Palms
Garden Grill is a fine dining restaurant that allows guests to choose between eating
indoors or outdoors. For breakfast, a full American buffet is offered while lunch and
dinner are ordered a la carte style. The cuisine is Mediterranean influenced and features
the area?s freshest seafood. The Great Room, which opens up off of the hotel?s main lobby,
is a library style lounge. Continental breakfast is served here daily. Guests can catch up
with the outside world from an array of international newspapers. Open from four to
midnight, the Veranda Bar is the ideal place to unwind after a hard day at work or to cool
down following a day at the beach. Enjoy the tropical night air on the
outdoor porch.
Business Services at the Palms
Not only is The Palms a great place to play but it?s a great place to work as well. The
hotel has devoted 7,000 square feet to meeting space, which includes six breakout rooms.
Each major facility features high-speed internet access, video conference capabilities and
audiovisual equipment rental. The hotel also houses a round the clock self-service
business center. Two computer terminals with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet access, a
laptop station, laser printer and copier are all available. The Palms is an efficient and
conducive environment in which to do business.
Be Pampered at the Palms
The Palms offers a wide array of services that only add to the guests? experience at the
hotel. Guests may soak up some rays by the freshwater swimming pool. The Tiki Bar and
Grill offers drinks and light meals. Poolside sunbathers can take a break from the sun in
one of the poolside cabanas. Enjoy a stroll through the beautiful tropical gardens or
watch the sunrise over the Atlantic from the gazebo. The Palms also provides it?s own
beach service. Sun lounges, towels, umbrellas and refreshing beverages are all available.
The hotel concierge can assist guests in making dinner reservations and directing them to
South Beach's various hot spots and points of interest.
